इस किले का एक अर्ध-वृत्ताकार नक्शा है, जिसकी सीधी ओर यमुना नदी के समानांतर है। इसकी चहारदीवारी सत्तर फीट ऊंची हैं। इसमें दोहरे परकोटे हैं, जिनके बीछ बीच में भारी बुर्ज बराबर अंतराल पर हैं, जिनके साथ साथ ही तोपों के झरोखे, व रक्षा चौकियां भी बनी हैं। इसके चार कोनों पर चार द्वार हैं, जिनमें से एक खिजड़ी द्वार, नदी की ओर खुलता है।

इसका प्रयोग और उसके उच्च पदाधिकारियों की गोष्ठी और मंत्रणा के लिये किया जाता था, जहाँगीर का सिंहासन इसकी विशेषता थी ।
